Land, Ho!

(Off the airplane) WHOOHOOOO! We made it to Kilimanjaro and it's 8:20 PM. Time here is 10 hours ahead of the time in SoCal! So we rode on a bus for an hour to get to our hotel - Joshmal Hotel in Arusha. I didn't know cars drove in the opposite lane in Tanzania. The dirt road is so small yet two big buses can fit alongside each other. Definitely not designed for such thing but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do! Our first meal foreshadowed what's to come again, again, and again. We had rice, mystery meat, greens, pasta, and bananas. It wasn't bad! I'm thinking the mystery meat is goat but who knows what's slipped in there.

12:10 AM - I woke up after a couple hours to a woman screaming her head off. Scary and alarming to say the least. In helpless situations, I can only pray to Jesus, so that's what I did.

4:04 AM - Another wake up but this time to an African man who was singing like Ariel the Little Mermaid(in his case, Merman). I chuckled to myself but this is NOT fun after two hours of real sleep in two days. Now I'm awake for good, thanks Merman.















This is my view from the hotel. Dirt roads, faded houses, beautiful people. And could you believe it was starting to rain?! Tanzania is a tropical place.
